frigid sunday gratitude

it’s a day that feels like an icy lake. i’m on a re-write deadline. the whole city seems frozen, emptyish. was out last night and the city seemed kinda drained. angelica’s kitchen at 10 on a saturday night? usually packed. not so much. anyway. is it the cold or the economy? or some stay-at-home urging combo?

today i am grateful for:
1) the 25 things lists that are flying around (and b and l for tagging me)
2) in yoga this morning the teacher said that her wise teacher said: “be like snow. fall into the earth.” she said it just as we were settling into savasana and it was the loveliest thing. i really felt it, being a part of a blanket floating down. literally and psychically. fall into the earth. of you, of the mat, of the world. come, here. such a heady, yet gentle, invitation.
3) my dear lady friends. i really love you and am glad to be surrounded by so many cool, strong, rockin’, heartful, bold women.
4) to-do lists
5) being warm inside
6) emailing with a.
7) that the revolutionary farms farmer was at the market yesterday with potatoes and turnips and microgreens. things hearty enough to grow in the cold dirt and fragile enough that they have to be grown in the warm indoors.
8) sunday
9) that i (probably) won’t have to buy a new cell phone (hang in there!) and sign a new contract on it until mercury is out of retrograde
10) this feeling i get every once in a while that everything is in perfect order and happening in just the right way.
