free love: radha, krishna, and the sun

in this morning’s yoga class, the teacher passed around a tarot-ish card of radha, krishna’s uber-babe. it said she triumphed over love, loved freely, openly, hugely, without attachment to the object. (though i imagine she must have called saraswati late nights once in a while to cry about all those other gopi beyotches, right?). the teacher quoted (i think) the bhagavad gita:”the heart is 1000 times stronger than the sun.”

at the end, she read this poem by hafiz:

The Sun Never Says
Even after all this time
The sun never says to the earth,
“You owe Me.”

Look what happens with
A love like that,
It lights the Whole Sky.
