moved-in gratitude

i am grateful for…

1) fleet and friendly movers. these guys rock: rabbitmovers.com

2) being DONE. old place painted, swept, scrubbed, and blessed.

3) being HERE. new place overflowing with boxes and crap, but it is pretty and it is home.

4) being with HIM. wow, domestic partner, live-in lover, roomie with benefits, all things i have never experienced. but so far: fun! there has been much coffee table debate: faux noguchi vs. copper/wood thing. and sofa debate. and rug debate. mostly of the modern vs. wood variety. or green & pink vs. red & blue. but we are finding happy middles surprisingly often. and if we had a few thousand bucks, we could buy agreement pretty easily–somehow shopping for new things is way more sympatico than coordinating old. there’s a metaphor in there somewhere but i am too exhausted and paint-spotted to find it. lmk if you can.

5) a patio

6) upcoming adventures

7) my mom, box donor extraordinaire

8) the nesty fun of finding soft places within box heaps

9) the shelf installer guy named guy coming tomorrow, soft nesty spots be damned

10) modern family

11) delicious new food all around me

12) the idea of getting back to a schedule. and yoga. i miss yoga.

13) teaching my first yoga class! they didn’t spit or leave. they even said they liked it. a guy who did it in chinos called it “fun.”

14) periwinkle

15) red leaves in the light

16) being back here, writin’

17) om-ing out the old home

18) cooking up blessings for the new

Makes me remember finally moving in with my partner–and oh the wrangling over furniture. “but that just doesn’t feel right.” and finally, gradually, creating the space that is ours.
Energetically speaking–your old furniture is part of your old, not-living-together selves–so it makes perfect sense to be in quest of new.
Blessings on all new ventures!
